What We Believe...

I was abused in every form of the word (physically, verbally, emotionally, and even sexually). As a young girl I ran to all the wrong things in life looking to fill that hurting, empty space in my heart. While on that long and desperate road to hell, thankfully, like the Apostle Paul, Jesus found me, saved me, delivered me, and is now using me to help others. I was a runaway, high school drop out, with terrible panic attacks, and a deep depression reigning over me, but today I'm an Award-Christian Author, Certified Pet Therapist & Teacher/Speaker. More
I was born and raised Catholic and thought a religion could save me. Like Lisa I ran to all the wrong things in life (drugs, alcohol, etc). After Lisa and I met, I accepted Jesus as my Savior. He healed, delivered, and totally set me free. Now I'm even living my dream doing videography in our ministry! More

I was abused by my biological father. I also had ADD and some mental issues. I used to cut myself to try to kill the pain from my dad hurting me. One day I cut too deep and almost died. Thanks to Gods awesome healing power I'm alive, well, and speaking out to help others break free from cutting and self-injury. I graduated from Bible College last year and am working for the Shiawassee County Mental Health Center, helping others with mental disabilities. More

I was abused by my biological father. For years I was labeled Emotionally Impaired and I was totally withdrawn. Throughout my life I was bullied in school and called "gay" because I chose not to date boys. God gave me a wonderful Christian Mom who was my best friend through it all. And later in high school God used me to minister to pregnant girls and others who were hurt in relationships. Today I speak out, encouraging girls to "wait" regardless of what others think. I'm also a Greeter at Wal-Mart and enjoy helping with the dogs and photography. More

I was abused by my biological father too. But I was also born with only 2 chambers in my heart. The doctors pretty much told my mom I wouldn't live to be a year old. Today I'm 21 years old, I graduated from High School with honors, and even though I'm on the heart transplant list and I've nearly died like a zillion times, I know God is going to keep healing me so I can share my amazing testimony with others. I like to cook, walk, and play video games. More

I was nearly bullied to death in school, suffered horrible panic attacks, and became suicidal. When my parents found out they got me help, prayed with me, and now I'm in my senior year of high school, writing songs, and off all medication. Today I sing songs at various places wherever we go to minister. I don't want anyone to go through what I did. In my free time I shoot hoops, swim, play softball, and I'm on a Christian basketball team. More
I'm the BLACK SHEEP in the family. I'm the abusive one, the fraidy-cat, the stinker. I'm probably the one who's needed the most healing and patience. The Freeman's are awesome, because even though I've chewed up everything I could dig my sharp teeth into, they loved me, forgave me, and even though they threatened to give me away, they've trained me up in the way I should go and I'm actually starting to learn some obedience. was an abused runaway too, just like Lisa. Only I ran under her van one day. She said I could only stay one night; that was 10 years ago. About two years ago I became a Certified Pet Therapy Dog. I've won two awards already for logging on more than 150 therapy visits. Now I'm teaching other dogs to "Heel & Heal". Aside from going to hospitals and nursing homes, Lisa and I go to schools, churches and other organizations, to share our story (which was published in Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul) and Lisa has taught me this really cool trick presentation. We also help the needy with back packs and Easter Baskets. In my free time I love to walk, nap, and eat TREATS. Did I mention I like TREATS? I'm also Mayor of the Humane Society for raising more than $5,000 for needy pets, which also counted as votes. MoreI
was chosen for the Freeman family by God. They were looking for a small, travel size pup they could train up to fill Snickers paws. Long story short--they got me. My breeder, Susan, came to Lisa for pet therapy with my dad, Kota. When she heard Lisa was looking for a pup, she offered the pick of the litter. God had to really change Lisa's heart and show her that "his ways are bigger than our ways". Way bigger sometimes. But when Lisa finally saw God's plan (it took awhile), she agreed, and I came home to live with them on Halloween @ 8 weeks old. I've already begun pet therapy visits and working in their program. I'm working on sitting, coming, staying, rolling over, sitting pretty, potty training, crate training, and walking on a leash. The full scoop... (coming soon)
